The Pantages Theatre originally opened in 1904 at the corner of Second Avenue and Seneca Street. There was no organ installed in the original theatre, and it is unknown whether motion pictures were exhibited there.

In 1914, the second Pantages Theatre opened at the northeast corner of Third Avenue and University Street. The Pantages Theatre was a first-run house. In September 1921, a new Robert Morton theatre pipe organ with partially-unified sixteen ranks was installed. The organist was Laura Van Winkle. Seattle organist Warren Wright also performed at the Pantages.

Sometime after 1925, the theatre was sold and renamed several times, continuing operation until 1963, when the then-named Palomar Theatre was demolished to be replaced by a parking garage.
